FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Have questions about digital planning or my products? I’ve got answers! Here are some frequently asked questions that may help you out.

GENERAL FAQ

  • Downloads are available once your payment is confirmed. If you paid with PayPal or a credit card on Etsy, confirmation might take a few minutes.

Etsy will send you a download notification email separate from any transaction notification emails you receive from Etsy and/or PayPal with a link to download your purchase. If you do not receive an email or the link isn’t working, you can access your digital files from your Etsy account by following these steps:

    1. Sign in to www.etsy.com on a web browser such as Safari or Google Chrome and click your little profile icon on the top right. Note: at this time, digital downloads are not availble to download from the Etsy app.

    2. Go to purchases and reviews (www.etsy.com/your/purchases).

    3. Next to your order, select "Download Files". This goes to the downloads page and you will see all the files included with your purchase.

You can access your digital download at any time by going to your purchases and reviews page, even if you end up losing the file on your device in the future.

  • Due to the nature of my products being an instant digital download, they are non-refundable. This means you get instant access to the download. Please make sure you have read all of the product details as well as the software requirements before you make your purchase. If you have any questions, please reach out to me. Thank you for understanding.

DIGITAL PLANNING FAQ

  • A digital planner is a PDF document containing hyperlinks (hyperlinks are clickable). They connect certain pages in the planner and allow for quick and easy navigation. By clicking on these hyperlinked tabs, the pages “flip” for you, just like a paper planner with dividers would. You need a PDF annotation app to use with a digital planner.

  • 1. A tablet, iPad or computer.

    2. PDF annotation app or program compatible with your device.

    3. The ability to be able to type or write with a stylus on your device.

Note: The iPad and Apple Pencil combination with the GoodNotes app are the most popular.

  • A PDF annotation app allows you to edit within a PDF document without effecting the layout. When it comes to digital planning, a PDF annotation app essentially allows you to write or type on the digital planner.

  • Kae Digital Design planners are compatible on iOS, Android, and Windows software.

iOS: GoodNotes is my recommended app of choice for Apple devices. Other popular apps available for iOS are Noteshelf, Notability, and Collanote. GoodNotes and Noteshelf are an additonal cost for you on the app store and Notability and Collanote are free.

Android: Noteshelf, Xodo, and Metamoji Note are the recommended apps of choice for android devices. Noteshelf and Metamoji Note are an additonal cost for you on the app store and Xodo is free.

Windows: Unfortunately, there aren't many great programs to use with windows. Xodo is the recommended program of choice for Windows devices, but it is only available as an online program.

Note: If you are wanting to digital plan with OneNote, you need a digital planner that is specifically created for OneNote as It uses “OneNote files”. At this time, I do not make planners compatible with OneNote, however there are lots of great options on Etsy.

  • 1. Log onto Etsy using a web browser such as Safari (it must be a web browser as the Etsy app does not support digital downloads at this time).

    2. Click your profile icon along the top and then click “Purchases and Reviews”. This will then take you to your purchases page.

    3. Find your digital purchase from my shop and click “Download Files”. Next, it will take you to the downloads page where you will see all the files included with your purchase.

Specifically for Kae Digital Design, the digital planner is available to download as a ".PDF" file. If there are stickers included with the purchase, there will be a ".goodnotes" file and a ".zip" folder containing individual PNGs available to download. There will also be an instructions file about how to use the specific planner you purchased. I highly recommend reading the Instructions PDF first as it will have all the details on how to download the planner to your device, how to use the digital planner, and tips and tricks for digital planning.

  • Most PDF annotation apps have a read and write mode.

To use hyperlinks, you need to be in read mode. Click the little pencil icon along the top of the app. Now the hyperlinks will work and you will be able to navigate through your planner.

To write or type on the planner, you need to be in write mode. Click that same little pencil icon. A toolbar will appear indicating your are in write mode. Now you should be able to write or type on the planner.

  • Unfortunately, no. Think of a digital planner as a paper planner but in a digital form. You still have to write (or type) everything out manually like you would on paper – it's just on an iPad or tablet instead.

  • Yes! If you have your PDF annotation app installed on both your iPhone and your iPad, you can sync your planner between devices using iCloud. This allows you to look at any important appointments, lists, etc. while you are out.

  • Yes! You can try out a freebie planner from the freebie studio.

PRINTABLES FAQ

  • I recommend using Adobe Acrobat Reader DC to view your PDF digital downloads. It is a free program you can download directly from the Adobe website: www.adobe.com/acrobat/pdf-reader.html.

  • Once you click print, the print preview screen will pop up. Click "actual size" and “auto” on the printer settings to ensure accurate sizing. There is also an Instructions PDF included with your purchase that will explain how to print in more detail.

Note: Every printer, program, and device are different. Using the print preview before printing will help you to view the size and image. From there you can adjust your printer settings further if needed. Please feel free to reach out to me if you are having issues.

  • Some of the printables have crop marks. These are used to help you cut your printable to the correct size for your planner. Using the crop marks as a guide, draw a line with a pencil and a ruler from each line accross each side until you create a rectangle. Then cut along those lines with scissors or a paper cutter. You will now have the size of paper you chose. Next you can hole punch and place in your planner to use!
